Quick Overview:

This upright dwarf Japanese cedar cultivar has a generally columnar shape but is quite irregular. Full sun produces best growth results, but it can tolerate some shade. ‘Black Dragon’ is a great substitute for dwarf Alberta spruce in hotter climates. It has very dark green foliage with prominent cones.

Description

Best grown in moist, rich, fertile, acidic, well-drained soils in full sun. Tolerates light shade. Soils should not be allowed to dry out. Site in a location protected from drying winter winds. This shrub is often available in multiple sizes.
